PASSIVE FIRE PROTECTION PRODUCTS

FIRE RESISTANT COATING LINE: FIRESYL

The primal objective of fire resistant coatings is to protect steel structures, other metals and even plastics, against the tremendous temperatures of incandescent gases and flames produced during a fire. All materials weaken with increasing temperature and steel is no exception.

Strength loss for steel is generally accepted to begin at about 300°C and increases rapidly after 400°C. By 550°C steel retains approximately 60% of its room temperature yield strength, and 45% of its stiffness. At high temperatures, steel is also subjected to significant thermal elongation, which may lead to adverse impacts, especially if it is restrained. So a severe structural deterioration, and even a collapse of the structure can happen, that endanger lives, and causes irreparable loss to buildings in case of fire.

At present, it is essential to create awareness of the dangers resulting from fire, not only to protect the heritage, but primarily to protect the lives of people that are in place, giving them time to evacuate the building and allow Firefighters to put out the fire. Special considerations must take place during the project design stage to maintain the structural integrity of a building in case of a fire.

FIRE RESISTANT COATINGS ARE APPLIED TO:- Structural Steel - Steel Plates – Steel decks - Concrete, especially on walls and ceilings of road tunnels.

This intumescent and subliming coatings are applied to structural steel, tanks, vessels, blast walls, pipe works, pipe racks and decks in installations with presence of hydrocarbons, flammable gases or liquids. This passive fire protection was designed for oil and chemical fires of high intensity, including jet fires. This products also works as highly reliable protective coating systems that will protect steel against corrosion for very long periods.

FIRE RETARDANT COATING LINE: FLAMESYL

FIRE RETARDANT CABLE COATING

Our Industrial Cable Coating line is a water-based, ready-to-use, heavy duty spray coating which is Factory Mutual (FM) approved and is designed to prevent vertical or horizontal propagation of fire along grouped or single communication or power cables. This Industrial Cable Coating is suitable for interior or exterior applications and is both UV and weather resistant. It is virtually unaffected by radiation exposure. This Industrial Cable Coating is halogen free and does not contain solvents, plasticizers, asbestos, or other hazardous inorganic fibers. Our formulation has been used by major utilities and corporations for over 25 years and is considered by some to be the industry standard.

FIRESTOP LINE

A firestop is a fire protection system made of various components used to seal openings and joints in fire-resistance rated wall and/or floor assemblies. Firestops are designed to restore the fire-resistance ratings of wall and/or floor assemblies by impeding the spread of fire by filling the openings with fire-resistant materials. Unprotected openings in fire separations cancel out the fire-resistance ratings of the fire separations, allowing the spread of fire, usually past the limits of the fire safety plan of a building. Types of Firestops:

The chemistry within the SYLPYL 4000 ADMIX reacts with moisture and free lime in the concrete, creating millions of insoluble crystalline fibers, which fill the pores, capillary tracts and minor shrinkage cracks within the concrete. This product is added to the concrete mix before pouring

• SYLPYL 4000 IC

Is a cementitious, ready-mixed powder, which is mixed with water to form a dense, waterproof surface barrier. It consists of Portland cement, well graded quartz sand and polymer enhanced special chemical ingredients. It is applied as a slurry over concrete.

• SYLPYL 4500 MOXIE CONCRETE SEALER

Is a multipurpose, ready-to-use, non-toxic, penetrating, permanent, concrete sealer/hardener specifically formulated to penetrate and seal concrete up to six inches in depth. It is applied in a liquid form over previously cleaned concrete.

PAVEMENT SEAL COATS

Seal coating is a very common and cost-effective preventive maintenance for existing asphalt pavements. It seals and renews a roadway surface that is still in good condition.

Designed to penetrate deep into pavement substrates it permanently weather seals airport, street and highway asphalt surfaces. Within as little as a few minutes after installation a tough but ductile, black satin surface permanently protects the underlying asphalt surface from tire wear, sun degradation and moisture. SYLPYL 640 SYLCOAT works as waterproofing and hardening of the asphalt, substantially increasing its life by not allowing the entry of water through cracks.
